What if we’re it?

By that, I mean the only intelligent life, possibly only life, in the observable universe?

By “us” I mean life on earth.

After all, from the smallest bacteria to the biggest blue whale, all life on earth is linked to a common ancestor that separated itself from mindless goo millions upon millions of years ago.
